Kelsey graduated from Hamilton College in 2012 with degrees in anthropology and studio art. After finishing school, she split her time between Nantucket, MA and Aspen, CO. When she wasn't on the beach, summers were spent managing an upscale lifestyle boutique, Atlantic, by day and hostessing at Straight Wharf Restaurant by night. Winter was spent working at the famed Colorado retailer, Gorsuch, and getting in as many powder days as possible.
In 2015, Kelsey moved to Brooklyn in order to pursue a career in the fashion industry. Her desire for a more comprehensive understanding of boutique retail led her to take an assistant position at The Aubrey Company, a long-standing, multi- collection showroom that focused on independent womenswear and accessory designers. She was quickly promoted to an assistant sales role where she became an active team member and could gain valuable wholesale experience firsthand. Her ability to cultivate strong relationships with both buyers and designers led her to a position as a Senior Sales Executive, working predominantly on US sales for French designer ÉPICE and global sales for Brooklyn-based Pip-Squeak Chapeau etc.
After much personal debate, Kelsey chose to leave her executive position in August of 2017 with the intention of taking some time off and eventually pursuing other interests. She realized that while fashion will always be a part of her life, it may not always be part of her career.
This last year has been spent building an increased sense of self, particularly through travel and writing. She is an avid reader, a mediocre chef and a believer in both habitual exercise and meditation. She loves spending time outdoors, going to museums, and eating/ drinking/ dancing with friends. Frequently you can find her in the middle of an apartment DIY with a true crime podcast on in the background or in the middle of a crossword puzzle. Beyond fashion, her professional (and personal!) interests include real estate, home decor, art, hospitality and architecture. She is a lover of good design and surrounds herself with beautiful things, beautiful places and beautiful people.
The vast majority of the photographs on this site were taken over the past year as part of a project I jokingly refer to as #mylifeonhiatus.
In many ways this time has been some of the hardest and most reflective in my life. I am so grateful for all of the beautiful experiences documented in these images. Many of these adventures, small & large, are a reaction to the sad and solitary moments we often neglect to chronicle. I am working on being grateful for those as well.
